The Angry Stamper stamps AGAIN....and it's beautiful

So this fabulous card was made at my house by "The Angry Stamper" last night and I love it!!! She came over wanting to use High Hopes Leo the Lion stamp as their friend Len was getting married and his nickname that they all call him is Lion. So she needed to make a Lion wedding card- uh huh. Exactly- wuhaaat. Well we rose to the challenge and since she had her image picked out we went from there to take it from wild jungle cat to tamed loving kitty. I think she did a fabulous job! We used this paper I had left over from Valentine's day and some wedding flowers from Michael's, dew drops and then I made a bow tie for her out of black grosgrain ribbon, a black brad and a real austrian crystal to give it some sparkle. I don't have what copics she used but she wanted to give him a cleaned up groomed look. I love love love the quote she made up to put on the card- Welcome to the Lion's Den- too funny! We used the 'feltpoint' font for the cool lettering.

I have to say- not a lot of angry stamping tonight from my fave angry stamper. Mind you we enjoyed a FULL bottle of her blueberry merlot homemade wine....hard to be angry while sipping that.

Today's enabler alert is that SGD is having their once a week huge sale with items up to 50% off. There are tons of new items in too...I am not going to tell you what I am going for so it's not sold out before I get there tee hee! I will tell you it's green though......any guesses?

I had a great Canada day yesterday, I hope you did too for my fellow Canucks! Kimmie came over and we stamped to our hearts content. Then her hubby came over for dinner and we had a delicious bbq that my hubby cooked. Food tastes so great when you don't make it yourself doesn't it lol!

Well it's off to work I go today. It's so weird to have a day off in the middle of the week but I am not complaining mind you!

Another High Hopes card with one of their new releases

Here is a sweet new image from High Hopes I got at SGD that my friend Crissy designed and that I couldn't wait to use my copics on. I used paper from We R Memory Keepers in the Tiffany pack and then used a charm I have had for years that fit it perfectly, glad I started cleaning out my drawers and found it LOL. I am trying to purge for the garage sale at SGD that is coming up but I keep falling in love over and over again....hmmmm...I know I have to part with some of this stuff but why does it have to be so hard? I am soooo sorry but I think I forgot to write down the colours I used....I thought I did so if I find it on my desk I will update this post.

I am playing with my new Ipod touch as I write this that I got for my birthday and mother's day. I love it already!!! My kids are all over me already..."it's not fair, why can't I have one too", "can I play the game with the monkey swinging on the branch that I played on so and so's daddy's ipod touch", "when can I buy one too", "why can't I buy one too", "can I touch it"......seriously I had to swat them away so I could be the first to look it over. AND they came over and took of the protective sticker- I wanted to do that!!!! Why is it mom's don't really get to do anything first or really get anything of their own without the kids feeling entitled to it too?? So what if I remember doing it to my mom, taking over any new clothes she got that I liked (and she only got new clothes maybe once every few years pfft not my problem) and her make up, records (that's right young readers...records not CD's, like CD's but much bigger and had grooves and needed a needle to be played and....oh forget it, google it and see what I mean) and anything else I took a fancy too. This is my turn as a mom and I don't think it's fair hmmph. Why do I  hear my mom laughing in pure glee saying over and over again "I hope you get a daughter just like you....". LMAO!!!!!!!!

High Hopes copic card class-another sample and Bella blog candy!

Here is another card class sample for the upcoming Copic class. I used the new High Hopes lotus flower and took creative license with the colours I chose. I will update the colours used for this card and the previous one after the class ;) I added some sprongy ribbon and gems to bling it up. I used Bazzil and MME papers and on other cards we used the reverse sides of this paper for a completely different and stunning result.

High hopes card for copic class and I got prezzies!!!

Here is a card I made for the upcoming May Copic class this coming Sunday at Scrappingreatdeals. I will be doing this with my stampin sista Kimmie! On this card we are focusing at how to colour faces but let's face it (get it ha ha) the rest of the image is gorgeous to colour too! It's from the new High Hopes release that my friend Crissy designed. I am absolutely in love with her little girl images in this release, especially this one. I have more cards to share that I have coloured over the past few days. This card took me a bit to put together as the sketch I had designed covered up most of the scrapbook paper on the base and then I just put most of my ideas away and let the pretty pattern shine on through!!! Call or email the store to sign up for the class. There are just 2 spots left for Sunday's class and more spots available for the same class on the 15th of May. I will share another card for the class tomorrow.

I have received some amazing mail the last few days! My new friend Janette that I met at the copic certification sent me a Stampendous stamp that I surprisingly didn't own yet. And she included some amazing spools of ribbon. And the card she gave me, seriously I drooled and had to wipe it off the card, so beautiful! Here is a pic of the goodies...

High Hopes- too cute

Awwwwww, isn't she sweet!!! Here is the last card from my class yesterday, the paper piecing one. The day was non-stop and much fun was had by all. I have to thank the ladies for being so patient with me. I was up till 230am after an outing with my boss and 2 co-workers then up early to finish getting ready for the class. Sooo, needless to say I rotated between being giddy and exhausted and rambling on and on tee hee. We finished one class (hey ladies **waving**) and then it was a mad dash to clean up, help them find what they are looking for, ring in the massive line up at cash then start all over again for the afternoon class (howdy ladies **waving**). Quick shout out to the ladies who came to hang out with us and to my fab partner in crafting Kimmie- we rock!!!

Then after a non stop day I rushed home to get ready in 25 mins to be taken to a mysterious place for dinner- Milestones...mmmmmm. Then I was dropped off for my *surprise* party. It was a blast! Up till 330am again..and awake at 7am due to a cold...so I am flaking out today. I will be back later with pics of my cake which has to be seen to be believed!!!!! And some party pics. DH is taking me on a drive to a stamp store 1 hour away as part of my birthday week- what a great hubby!!!!!! Love him!!

another high hopes card for the copic class and the angry stamper's stampendous card

 

Here is another card for the Copic Class on Saturday at SGD with my stampin sister Kimmie. I found the markers used on my craft table so I snapped a quick pic to share what colours were used. I love this High Hopes ant card.

My friends The Angry Stamper and V came over last night and we had a blast! The Angry Stamper didn't even stamp angrily this time we were having so much fine. May have been because of the wine you can see in the background tee hee. She used Stampendous stamps and it turned out so sweet! I have to run to work today so I can't write much but enjoy the pics!

 

 

High Hopes-Butterfly Kisses

 

Hope everyone is enjoying this confusing week. Well it's confusing for us here in SW Ontario! We wake up to snow and have to scrape off our cars then by mid afternoon people are running around in their shorts. No wonder people think Canadians are a little loony, and not just because of our $1 coin either!

Here is a card that we will be making at the Copic class this coming Sat at SGD and again on April 20th. I am teaching it with my partner in ink..Kimmie. She also has some card samples up on her blog for you to see. I used a sweet High Hopes stamp and sentiment and some Basic Grey Porcelain Prints patterned paper.  I added some pearls for some sweet blinggage and I have to say, I love how this card came out. Judy, a friend of mine from SGD asked that I take a pic of my copic colours used to help others while colouring. The other cards I made this week I forgot to do it for but this one I remembered so I posted this card first tee hee.

I have to share a funny hubby/wife story with you...perhaps you can empathize. Jason likes it when I watch tv with him. I am not a big tv person so I tend to plunk away on the laptop while I sit through endless hours of Star Trek, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Star Wars and endless episodes of cooking on the food network. Oh and musn't forget the many days of my life spent sitting beside him watching nature shows. I hardly ever get to watch what I want and when I do he takes control of the remote and channel surfs during commercials which no matter what he promises I always end up missing a bit of my show as he doesn't turn back in time. If for some reason I have the remote, he takes it from me within minutes and doesn't even realize he is doing it (SUPPOSEDLY). Okay, so I have a feeling that most of you can relate. Soooo the reason for the long set up is that he got mad that I wanted to use the laptop to finish this post for today cause he NEVER gets it cause I am ALWAYS on it. And he is maaaddd. So I get offended that he is mad at me and then I decide that I am mad! I mean, in the 16 years we have been together and I have sat through a bajillion hours of tv shows with him...seriously he is upset that I now plunk on the laptop while beside him instead of just reading or staring off into space and thinking of what clothes I would buy when I lost weight., So he got mad tonight because he wanted to sit on the best spot on the couch AND watch his show AND use the laptop and didn't understand how that may not be fair. Well honestly once I told him about what a TV hog he is, he started laughing and I got the laptop.

Lesson here ladies.....always be prepared to justify what you need and make them feel bad. I actually learned this from Jason who can incredibly make everything my fault, it's truly a gift. tee hee.

Anyway, we are sitting together comfortably on the couch, kids in bed, he has the show on that he wants to watch, I have the laptop..sigh..it's perfect

High Hopes- Bunny Love

  Okay, how seriously sweet are these 2 bunnies. I mean look at them!! I have a soft spot for most animal stamps but bunnies and kitties do me in! Especially I love how the one bunny is giving what we call at my house 'a squishy hug' (the best kind!) and the other bunny is so happy to receive it. This was just a simple basic card design. I wanted to get it posted on the High Hopes blog before the winner was posted for the spring card challenge but I was too slow on the uptake and missed it by minutes. Good incentive to get these week's challenge done in advance instead of leaving till the very last few seconds.

I love spring...it's sunny, birds singing and it's not too hot. Also in Spring- my birthday, Easter (who doesn't love a holiday that celebrates with chocolate!) and my lilac bushes bloom. My fave fave fave flowering tree. Just wanted to share that my birthday is on Easter Weekend this year so prezzies and chocolate- and no- I am just like the Christmas babies- you can't combine it and give me one box of chocolates to celebrate both just like one present can't be for both Christmas and birthday...Please!!!!

If you are new to my blog I should be honest and share that I love my birthday. I don't know why it's s big deal, I mean I am getting older, hair is turning darker where it used to be white or not there at all (like on my neck WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!), I have to pluck MULTIPLE gray eyebrow hairs out each week. My skin on my chest is already crepey and my knees crack really loud when I stand up. Mind you, I still think I look fab, even older and all with this extra weight, you gotta love yourself! So, not sure why my birthday is such a big deal but it is. I can't work on my birthday as I don't feel I get the proper homage at work. My boss refuses (and rightly so I guess) to hire a band and hang balloons "as they don't do it for everyone else" but is anybody else asking I would like to know..... So, my birthday is coming soon, I will have a countdown starting shortly and Spring is in the air. Maybe not outside where we just got more snow dumped on us but in here with my lovely candles burning and cute bunnie cards  hangin round!

High Hopes- Love Birds

 

I wanted to play along with the High Hopes rubbers stamps weekly challenge. This one was to have a heart somewhere on  your card so I went the easy route and chose a stamp that had one right in the image. I love these 2 owls! I didn't add a saying to the card as I am not sure what occasion I want to use it for yet as I have soooo many birthdays coming up in February. I may use it as a birthday card saying "your aunt and uncle love you soooo much" kinda thing. I used SU kraft as my base and then some of my basic grey Urban Prairie which seems to have become my fave! Then I coloured the image with copics- no surprise here LOL!

I had a fun weekend stamping with my stampin sista Kim. You can actually read all about our adventures on her blog here . And for the record I was about to kiss her in Michael's, it's true. My fave part of the day was of course when I went to my other Stamping Heaven at Scrappin Great Deals found here. We had a fantastic time and I got to meet in person another Kim and Angie who are awesome! And Sheila of course as I always say- ROCKS!!!!!! I could hang with her all day and talk copics. I have some exciting news too- THEY HAVE ASKED ME TO BE ON THEIR DESIGN TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I know- flippin amazing!!! I already have my first kit to prepare for Feb so stay tuned. Check out what Sheila has to offer in products and classes- it's amazing! I also have some blog candy from her that I will post this week- another gift certificate! She is so generous!
